This year we celebrate Beethoven’s 250th anniversary. A great mind and a visionary composer of the 19th century.
After his death, in years, time changed our perception of his music. The developpement of the instruments through 19th and 20th century made the expression evolve in a world of “fine –tuned” instruments. Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Bach and others are played on the same standardized Piano. These ensures a certain sound conformity and ease of playing around the globe, but isn’t perse a good thing for the colorful diversity of the musical landscape.
Played on original instruments, contemporary to those in Beethoven times (circa: 1800), owned and restored by the Music Instruments Museum of Brussels (MIM), Olsi LEKA cello and Piet KUIJKEN fortepiano, will revive the sounds of Beethoven’s universe. Getting closer to the sounds as well as placing his music in it’s historical context, they ensure a unique experience of Beethoven Authenticity!
